Who are our Members?

SECU (Shell Employees’ Credit Union Ltd) was originally established to serve the needs of the Shell Group of Companies in 1963. As we continued to grow we expanded to also welcome Shell Group employee family members and individuals who provide contract services to Shell. We also welcome employees, business owners and residents of the Rosehill business district, now called the Camellia Business Peninsula. Remember... family members can join too.

Once a Member, you can always remain a Member.

Once a Member, if you change your employer or location you can always remain a Member. We have proudly been in the Rosehill business district since 1963. When you have the need to see someone in person many ‘locals’ also enjoy visiting our branch without the need to go into Parramatta. Often, we can also visit you personally within the Rosehill business district!

Our purpose and focus is very different.

At SECU each Member is an equal part owner in the Credit Union and our role is to service Members' financial needs – offering the best value possible. We really do put our Members and community first. This has proudly been the reason we exist since 1963. There is a big difference between us and the big banks. We are owned by our Members for our Members! 

Our Board of Directors are Members just like you and voted by you to represent your interest. It doesn’t matter if you have $20 or $100 million invested with SECU. All Members and Directors have one share and one vote. This is what being a mutual organization means and is all about.
